Make Headway with Headspace

Young people can sometimes feel overwhelmed and isolated when dealing with the countless issues that confront them. Headspace is someone you can turn to for health advice, support and information.
Getting help early can resolve problems quickly so if you are looking for someone to talk to and you are aged between 12-25 years of age, Headspace has 55 centres Australia-wide and one in Frankston, to help young people in the Frankston and Mornington Peninsula area.
Some of the things you can contact them about are:
• Education, employment and other services
• Mental health and counselling
• General Health
• Alcohol and other drug services
Sometimes it’s tough to sort out problems when you are young and you may be worried about bullying, depression, body image or just plain anxious. Headspace has intake workers who can point you in the right direction to get help.
If you are worried about the cost, all headspace services are free and confidential. They include -
• Bulk billing GP clinic with male and female doctors and appointments can be made Monday, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.
• Bulk billing psychologists who provide free counselling sessions for young people
Headspace is the National Youth Mental Health Foundation and was established and funded in 2006 by the Commonwealth Government of Australia.
